Even as a hardcore Bitcoiner, this one shocked me.

We're trending in the right direction 🚀

Bitcoin is scarce like gold, but it's easier to buy, easier to store, easier to move, and easier to verify.

Americans would rather store value on their phone (or a cold wallet) than lock it in a vault.

The asymmetric upside trade versus gold? Much more massive.

Nine of the biggest names in finance just teamed up to fund Bitcoin's defense.

Together, $15 million over three years. Straight to the open source developers who maintain and secure Bitcoin's code.

The big focus: quantum computing. That's the (still theoretical) risk that a future supercomputer could eventually break the encryption protecting your Bitcoin. Experts disagree on the timeline. Some say 3-5 years out. Some say 20-40. Either way, the people funding this aren't waiting to find out.

  • No central pool of money

  • Each company funds who they want

  • Nobody involved gets a say in how Bitcoin's protocol actually works

This keeps Bitcoin decentralized even while the biggest institutions in the world back it.

Picture this headline in 2015. Bitcoin was a punchline to most of Wall Street back then.

Now it's writing checks to protect it 🔥

Kazakhstan to build a national crypto reserve, funded by its own Bitcoin miners.

Quick geography. Largest landlocked country on Earth. 9th largest country by land, period. Sits between Russia and China.

Also one of the world's biggest Bitcoin mining hubs.

The deal: miners get cheap, locked-in power for 10 years. In exchange, they hand over 10% of what they mine every month straight into the reserve.

The US built its own strategic Bitcoin reserve last year.

Now a major mining nation is doing the same. Funded by miners, not taxpayers.

When nation-states start stacking instead of just talking, pay attention.

Russia just passed its first comprehensive crypto law.

Doesn't legalize buying coffee with Bitcoin. The ruble stays the only legal currency for that.

What it actually does: gives crypto legal status as property, licenses exchanges, and opens a state-approved lane for using crypto in foreign trade.

Translation: a sanctioned country just built itself a bypass around the dollar-based banking system.

Kicks in September 1st.

Whatever you think of Russia, this is another government legitimizing crypto instead of banning it. That trend keeps compounding.

Mt. Gox. BitGrail. FTX. Each blowup marked a previous cycle bottom.

This week, two more fell.

BitMEX, one of crypto's biggest exchanges, is shutting down for good. 11 years in business. They invented the 100x leverage perpetual swap, the contract that built crypto's entire derivatives industry.

Poolin, once one of the biggest Bitcoin miners on Earth, just filed for bankruptcy.

History says this pattern repeats every cycle.

When the biggest, most overleveraged players start to fail, it usually means we're getting close to the bottom.

Painful in the moment. But it flushes the excess out of the system, which usually sets up the next bull run.
